Duncan DK 1029-2

SOLD

This is a Duncan DK 1029-2 with kiln sitter LT-3k controller.

The kiln has dark staining on the brick that appears to able to be rubbed off. It is mainly on the
floor and upper edge areas.

The wall bricks have chips and damage in areas. They could be patched or left alone as the heating
coils stay pot. The bottom most level of heating coil is out of its grove. It is questionable
if the bricks should be repaired in that area of if the coil would be fine sitting there.

There are 2 half-shelves that go with this kiln. One shelf is broken but is still usable.

There are also stilts of different heights that go with it as well. They have a dark powder or mold
like substance on them. Using my glove, the dark areas started to rub off. Someone could probably
take a rag or fine sandpaper and clean them up and even run them through a firing cycle to make them
look new again.

There is also a small tray that holds little triangle shaped sticks (I don't know what it is called)
that goes with the kiln.

The power cord has a burnt area near the plug. I was told from the previous owner that this kiln was
in his basement and there was another kiln that overheated and caused the rubber on this kilns cord
to start to bubble from the heat. I was told to replace the cord to be safe as kilns draw a lot of
watts. I have not tested the kiln as I have no way to power them. I haven't done an ohm meter check
on the cord to see if it is internally damaged or not. The outside rubber covering is damaged though.

The upper most control box is pulled forward and needs to be re-screwed. It was accidentally grabbed when
moving the kiln when I was buying it and it pulled out the 2 small screws on one side of the box.

Data plate shows

I think the kiln can be separated. The control box might have to come off first. That would make
transporting it easier.

I have a forklift to assist in loading if need be.

I am offering a discount of the ceramic casting molds if you buy a kiln. See the molds page for details.
