Louis Marx lithographed tin wind-up tank toy E-12.

$100

This version of the E-12 tank was made in the early 1940's. There are other versions made with different barrels and colors through the 1950's.

This is the "climbing and sparking" model. The flint for the sparking from the side guns is worn out so it doesn't throw sparks when I tested it.

I does move and make the clinking sound to simulate gun fire.

These units are hard to find and even harder to find in good condition. They usually are rusted apart and/or do not have the tracks anymore.

I do not know how to grade toys but I would consider this in good shape.

I'm guessing these tanks were made sometime in the late 1930's up to around the 1950's. With different design changes throughout the years.

This is the same toy model of the tank seen in the movie  "A Christmas Story". In the first 3 minutes of the movie the children are looking through the glass window at the display of toys. In a quick scene, the camera zooms in on a E-12 model of tank as it is moving across the display. It is a very quick shot of it so most people would probably not remember it. This toy is the same color and version as mine listed for sale.

Below is a gif of "A Christmas Story" that shows the scene with an E12 tank.
